In silver, cross bearing enameled cross on obverse with gold centerpiece, in original case of issue, measuring at 35.99mm (w) x 38.61mm (h) and weighing at 9.6mm grams, original ribbon in extremely fine condition.

Case bearing monogram of Victor Emanuel and inscribed “Cravanzola, Succ. E. Gardino, Gioielleria, Roma” measuring at 65.24mm (w) x 89.60mm (h).

Footnote: The Order was founded by Victor Emmanuel II to commemorate the unification of Italy in 1861. It was the first national Order instituted after the unification of the Kingdom of Italy. This Order was conferred upon Italians and foreign citizens, regardless of religious affiliations, who had rendered extraordinary service to the Kingdom of Italy and the Sovereign within military and civil realms.
