Description
(Triju Zvaigžņu ordenis). Instituted on March 11th, 1924. (c. 1935 issue). Constructed of silver and blue enamels, consisting of five larger rays with 7 rays with 7 smaller rays between, with a raised central applique consisting of a royal blue enameled medallion bearing three five-pointed stars, surrounded by the inscription “Par Teviju” (For Fatherland), which is then surrounded by an oak wreath tied together at the base by a ribbon, the reverse is plain, with a barrel hinge, broad vertical pinback, and thick wire catch along with two downward-facing S-shaped hooks for secure attachment to an uniform, marked “Ordenu Fabrika W.F. Müller, Riga, Latvija” within a central silver medallion, measuring 78.8 mm (w) x 77.0 mm (l), weighing 64.90 grams, showing enamel repair and re-fastening of the left-most lower star on the obverse of the award, in overall near very fine condition.
