(Lietuvos didžiojo kunigaikščio Gedimino Ordinas). Instituted in 1927. Type II (1918-1940). A neck badge, in silver and silver gilt, consisting of a Maltese cross with white enamel interior details, and clusters of three gilt rays in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features the Columns of Gediminas on a red enamelled diamond shape field, the reverse medallion presents the inscription 1918 II.16 on a red enamelled field, suspended from an elongated loop and worn on a full length neck ribbon, measures 48.85mm (w) x 51.4mm (h), weighs 38.5 grams (including ribbon), minor enamel discolouration, residue between arms, enamels intact, remains in extremely fine condition. The Star of the Order, composed of silver, featuring a nine armed star with clusters of smooth rays, the obverse medallion presents the insignia of the order – a Maltese cross in silver with white enamel arms, and clusters of three gilt rays in each quadrant, with the red enamelled diamond shape center displaying the Columns of Gediminas, the reverse features a single bent pin to conform to the arms, measures 78.3mm (w) x 78.2mm (h), 70.2 grams, enamels intact, dark patina on the rays, in extremely fine condition.
Accompanied by the full length award document, on thick card, the exterior presenting the Lithuanian Coat of Arms and the inscription LIETUVOS RESPUBLIKA DIDZIOJO CIETUVOS KUNIGAIKSCIO GEDIMINO ORDINAS, the interior presents a coloured section with the insignia of the order, the document is named to Ponas Generalinis Direktorius Alberto D’Agostino (Mr. Directing Manager Alberto D’Agostino), dated November 26, 1936, with embossed seal, the document measures 305mm (w) x 460mm (l), heavily creased in the center, tears along two edges, areas of foxing on the exterior, remains in near very fine condition.
