Silver with red enamels, 42 mm, original ribbon, extremely fine. Accompanied by her Society of Fighters for Freedom and Democracy Veteran's Identification Booklet (hardcover, black and white photo of Rzegocka and numbered "0791629" on the inside front cover, pages printed in black ink, issued on September 6, 1988, 73 mm x 105 mm); and a Political Prisoners of Nazi Prisons and Concentration Camps "Auschwitz Cross" Identification Booklet (black and white photo of Rzegocka and numbered "05767" on the inside front cover, stating that she was born in Krakow on March 17, 1913 and resided in Krakow, printed in red, blue and black inks, issued on May 5, 1990, 75 mm x 105 mm).
Footnote: The Auschwitz Cross was instituted on March 14, 1985 and awarded to honour survivors of Nazi German concentration camps, including Auschwitz. It was awarded generally to Poles, but it was possible to have it awarded it to foreigners in special cases and could be awarded posthumously. It ceased to be awarded in 1999 but an exception was made in the case of Greta Ferusic, who was awarded it in February 2004.
