(Ordem Militar de Cristo). Instituted in 1917. In bronze gilt with red and white enamels, unmarked, measuring 36.3 mm (w) x 57.5 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, intact enamels, traces of gilt wear, very light contact, on a full-length replacement neck ribbon, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Military Order of Christ was instituted in 1917, based on the earlier Order of Christ and is awarded for outstanding services to the Republic in government, diplomacy, public service and administration, in five grades: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
