A mixed lot of awards to Kalenyk Antonovich Shevchuk, a Рядовой (Private)
who served with the 260th Bratslav Infantry Regiment, and whose awards were authorized by Grand Duke Nicholas Nikolaevich in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Russian Army, consisting of:
1. A St. George Cross, IV Class, constructed of a silver alloy, on loop for suspension, the obverse bearing a central raised depiction of St. George slaying a dragon, the reverse bearing a central monogram of St. George (“СГ” for Святой Георгий, or St. George), the three and nine o’clock arms stamped with an award number of “261814”, the six o’clock arm bearing an inscription of “4 СТЕП” indicating IV Class, unmarked, measuring 34.31 mm (w) x 40.86 mm (h), weighing 11.1 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
2. A Medal for Bravery, Type III, IV Class, constructed of silver, on loop for suspension the obverse bearing a raised and leftward-facing profile of Tsar Nicholas II, circumscribed by name and title in Cyrillic script, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “ЗА ХРАБРОСТЬ” (“FOR BRAVERY”), above an engraved award number of “1182544” and an inscription of “4 СТЕП” indicating IV Class, unmarked, measuring 28.40 mm in diameter, weighing 15.4 grams, in extremely fine condition.
3. A Medal for Zeal, Type V, constructed of silvered, on loop for suspension, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward-facing profile of Tsar Nicholas II, circumscribed by name and title in Cyrillic script, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “ЗА УСЕЕРДІЕ” (“FOR ZEAL”), flanked by laurel and oak leaf branches, unmarked, measuring 28.60 mm in diameter, weighing 11.1 grams, demonstrating some edge bruising, in better than very fine condition.
