Instituted April 17, 1878. In bronze, obverse meaning the radiating cross and anchor with the dates 1877-1878, the reverse bearing the Cryllic inscription translating to "Not Unto Us, Not Unto Us, But In Thy Name", measures 26.4 mm in diameter, worn on a pentagonal ribbon with pin on reverse, gilt wear and light contact marks, very fine.
Footnote: The medal was instituted on April 17, 1878 during the reign of Tsar Alexander II, to commemorate the victorious conclusion of the 1878-1879 war against Turkey.
