(за услуге српском црвеном крсту). Type I. (1912-1921 Issue). Instituted in 1912. In silver, obverse shows red cross and Serbian coat of arms with the inscription, “за услуге српском црвеном крсту”, reverse shows ‘Kosovo Maiden’, on original white ribbon, inclusive of its ball suspension 38 mm (h) x 33.3 mm (w), very fine condition.
Footnote: The Red Cross Medal of Merit was instituted in 1912. It was awarded for exceptional merit and services rendered to the Serbian Red Cross in times of war or peace, and for care and assistance to the sick and wounded, philanthropy and personal merit.
