Slovakia, First Republic. An Army Racing Team Badge, III Class

Constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a banner executed in white, blue, and red enamels, overlaid by initials “OAP” (Oddielu Armádnych Pretekárov/Department of Army Racers), overlaid by a black enameled triangle bearing a Slovak national eagle bearing an enameled coat of arms and clutching a circular laurel leaf wreath in its talons, the reverse with three visible prongs securing the obverse insignia in place, with a clip hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 35.14 mm (w) x 46.60 mm (h), weighing 10.4 grams, demonstrating minor flecking and scratching to the enamels, a scarce badge in near extremely fine condition.
