A unique and ornate Slovak Schnelle division trench art photo stand, constructed or reclaimed brass shell cases, consisting of a trapezoidal pedestal bearing an engraved inscription of “RD PAMIATKA Z RUSKA 19422” (“RAPID DIVISION MEMORY OF RUSSIA 1942”), flanked by dual manned flak guns, inset into the pedestal are three polished large calibre shells, sets in place three photo frames with intact custom-cut glass faces, behind the frames a shell is affixed to the pedestal and features highly-detailed stamped and engraved designs bearing a Schnelle Division eagle topped by an inscription of “KAVKAZ” (“CAUCASUS”), measuring 305 mm (w) x 230 mm (l) x 245 mm (h), with some loosening of the shells evident, in near extremely fine condition; accompanied by three photos set within the frames, including one large postcard-sized studio portrait of a Slovak Army soldier, in uniform and with a handwritten date of 10 July 1940, measuring 84 mm (w) x 135 mm (h), a second photo depicting the soldier in the field and wearing a Schnelle Division badge, the reverse with a handwritten date of “1942”, measuring 62 mm (w) x 90 mm (h), in extremely fine condition, and; a third photo depicting the soldier at leisure, the reverse with a handwritten date of “1942”, measuring 62 mm (w) x 90 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
