Spain, Kingdom. An Order of Isabella the Catholic, Grand Cross Star, by Kretley, c. 1880

(A La Lealtad Acrisolada Por Isabel la Católica). Instituted in 1815. In silver gilt with obverse centre in 18k Gold, cross in red enamel, each of the arms finished with two ball finials, centrepiece ring shows variation of insignia with two black pillars surrounded by a laurel wreath and the inscription “A La Lealtad Acrisolada Por Isabel la Católica”, reverse with makers cartouche of Kretley, measuring 77.7 mm, weighs 47.4 grams, an excellent example in top quality, better than extremely fine. 

Footnote: The Order was established on the 14th of March 1815 as a Spanish civil order in which membership is granted in recognition of services that benefit the country. There are several variations that may include sizes, composition materials, details, and the design of the insignia.
