Description

(Royal Patriotic Society Medalj för lång och trogen tjänst). Instituted 1802. In silver, obverse featuring the left-facing bust of King Oscar II reign: 1872-1907), engraver marked "KEA AHLBORN" below the bust, surrounded by the inscription "OSCAR II SVERIGES NORR. GOTH. O. VEND. KONUNG.", reverse illustrating scattered naval-based objects on the coast, a rising sun at the left and a ship at sea to the right, inscribed "Kl. SV. PATR. SÄLLSK." above, measuring 36 mm (w) x 50.3 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, semi-dark patina, edge nicks, contact marks, original ribbon, better than very fine.
