Sweden, Kingdom. A Royal Patriotic Society Medal, 1St Size, In Silver, With Case

Instituted 1802. In silver, a large medal, the obverse featuring the left facing profile King Gustav with the surrounding inscription GUSTAF V SVERIGES GOT O VEND KONUNG, the reverse presenting the inscription AF KONGL PATRIOTISKA SALISKAPET AT FOR LANGVARIG TROGEN TJENST with center engraved K.V ANDERSSON, the medal presents an affixed crown suspension, measures 41.2mm (w) x 58.6mm (h – inclusive of cross adorned crown suspension), weighs 45.3 grams including ribbon, worn on a long yellow and green ribbon, minor contact to obverse and reverse, lovely patina, in extremely fine condition.

Contained in original case, of green leatherette exterior marked Frän K Patriotiska Sällskapet, the interior presents a crème coloured silk lid and rich green velvet recessed medal bed, hinge and clasp functional, large scuff to exterior lid, minor wear to corners and interior, in very fine condition.
