“During the offensive operations of our troops from January 21, 1945, the platoon of Guards Lieutenant PATEUV being attached to the 337th self-propelled artillery regiment, made 7 through passages in the obstacles of their own and the enemy on the forward edge of defense in the area of the city of Goldap and 32 anti-personnel mines and 3 field minds were discovered and neutralized. All self-propelled guns of the regiment passed through the made passages without a single case of denotation. The sappers acted boldly and decisively. Repeatedly, led by their commander, Guards Lieutenant Patuyev, they repelled the enemy attacks together with infantry and machine gunners and were always successful. Comrade Patuyev showed himself to be a courageous, strong-willed decisive officer on the battlefield.
For excellent performance of combat missions to accompany self-propelled artillery and the courage, bravery and excellent organizational skills demonstrated in doing so, which ensured the free maneuver of self-propelled guns on the battlefield, he was worthy of the Government award of the Order “PATRIOTIC WAR 1ST DEGREE.”
