(Abzeichen). A pair of badges, including:

1. An Infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k rifle with the bayonet attached and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, measuring 45.74 mm (w) x 60.67 mm (h), weighing 33.5 grams, demonstrating total loss of silver finish with postwar restoration, in addition to the replacement of the catch, in fair condition.

2. A Blockade Runner Badge, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of a circular chain link wreath, surrounding a central blockade runner with its bow extending beyond the edge of the wreath and overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, designer marked “OTTO PLACZEK, BERLIN” and maker marked “SCHWERIN, BERLIN”, measuring 48.03 mm in diameter, weighing 38.7 grams, demonstrating total loss of silver finish with postwar restoration, in addition to replacement of the hinge, pinback, and catch, in fair condition.
