Description

Tamgha-e-Jan-e-Nisari. In silver, maker marked "WAP.W", marked with an anchor (made in Birmingham), the British lion and date marked "E" (1929) on the obverse, hallmarked with the British lion on the reverse of the bar suspension, measuring 36.5 mm in diameter, original ribbon suspended from an ornate hanger with pinback, extremely fine.

Footnote: The medal was instituted by Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan V Abbasi to recognize the services of members of the volunteer and auxiliary forces. It was awarded in two classes: First Class in silver to officers and Second Class in bronze to other ranks. Separate bars were awarded to recognize particular types of service in four degrees: 1. Bravery, 2. Long Service, 3. Good Conduct, and 4. Good Service.
