Description
(Nishan-I-Taj-I-Iran). Instituted in 1900 (c. 1915). Constructed of silver gilt and multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a five-pointed white and green enameled Maltese star with ball finials and with multiple rays protruding from the center of the award between the arms of the cross, the obverse with a central medallion bearing an ornate crown in a field of light-blue enamels, surrounded by a coin-edge ring decorated with a green enameled laurel and oak wreath, the reverse with a large light blue enameled central medallion depicting a sun bearing a central face with multiple rays of sunshine emanating front he center, suspended from a green enameled oval swivel ring of laurel and oak leaves, from a broad dual-loop and its correct replacement neck ribbon, silver hallmarked “800 AE” on the loop with the rest of the hallmark unidentifiable, measuring 71.0 mm (w) x 66.9 mm (l), weighing 86.49 grams, with light to moderate contact marks visible to the white enameled portions of the award and with miniscule chipping to the green enameled outer borders from wear along with the green enameled central wreath, in better than very fine condition.
