Instituted February 15th, 1939. (c. 1960 issue). A two-piece set of a cased Order of Homayoun, consisting of:
1. A breast star, constructed of silver, consisting of a star of rays with eight tips that are enameled in green with multiple rays in-between, the obverse with a central hand-painted medallion depicting a Lion wielding a saber with a sun and blue sky in the background, surrounded by a green and red enameled ring, the reverse plain, with a tall barrel hinge, tapered vertical pinback, and broad catch along with two downward-facing S-pins for stabilization when worn on an uniform, the pinback is marked “800” for silver content with the rest illegible, measuring 95.1 mm (w) x 95.9 mm (l), weighing 109.40 grams, with light contact marks to the enamels on the obverse, in overall near extremely fine condition.
2. A sash badge, constructed of silver, consisting of a star of rays with four tips along with multiple rays in-between, the obverse with a central hand-painted medallion depicting a Lion wielding a saber with a sun and blue sky in the background, surrounded by a green and red enameled ring, the reverse plain, on an interlocking dual ring and oval loop for suspension from its period-original sash ribbon, marked “800” for silver content with the rest illegible, measuring 59.5 mm (w) x 59.5 mm (l), weighing 34.16 grams, in better than extremely fine condition
This set is housed in its case of issue, constructed of a lightweight wooden core with a textured burgundy faux leather exterior, the interior of the lid lined with off-white silk stamped “Chobillon - Paris”, with dual exterior metal hinges and an intact interior fabric hinge cover, measuring 170 mm (w) x 315 mm (l), in extremely fine condition.
