A Royal photograph album formerly belonging to The Queen’s head Chauffeur, Mr. William Leslie Chivers R.V.M, containing photographs of the Royal Family touring Scotland. The front and rear covers of the album are constructed of a stiff cardstock core with a red textured faux leather (leatherette) exterior, the cover embossed with “Photographs” in gilt. It contains ten double-sided pages filled with up to five annotated black-and-white photographs per page, depicting Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, Prince Phillip, and Prince (His Majesty the King) Charles laughing, chatting, and visiting several formal gatherings in the countryside of Scotland. The photo album measures 25 mm (w) x 235 mm (l), and is extremely well preserved.
Footnote: Mr. William Leslie Chivers R.V.M joined The Royal Household after the Second World War having been a professional Chauffeur prior. He became Head Chaffeur to His Majesty King VI. on the retirement of the previous Head Chaffeur, and continued in that role for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth after the King’s death in 1952 until the late 1970’s.
