All seven medals with an original ribbon and brooch pinback.

8. Bronze Star Medal Lapel Badge.
9. Purple Heart Lapel Badge.
10. 27th Infantry Division Patch: in red, black and olive green embroidery, measuring 60 mm in diameter.
11. 165th Infantry Regiment (69th Infantry Regiment) Insignia Lapel Badge: in bronze with red, yellow, blue and green enamels, measuring 28.5 mm (w) x 32 mm (h), screwback.
Accompanied by research papers.

Footnote: Jack Leon Flauding was born on June 29, 1914 in Elkhart, Elkhart County, Indiana. He was inducted into the Army at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana on September 22, 1941 at the age of 37 (15-298-532), stating his civilian occupation as that of Stripper. Staff Sergeant Flauding qualified for the Rifle Marksmanship Badge in September 1943 and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge on January 27, 1944. His military occupational specialty was as a Machine Gun NCO. He was a veteran of the Gilbert and Marshall Islands Campaign, along with the Mariana and Palau Islands Campaign (AKA Operation Forager) and was wounded in action on April 25, 1944 during the Battle of Okinawa (codenamed Operation Iceberg). Staff Sergeant Flauding was honorably discharged from active service on September 7, 1945 at Camp Beale in California. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in the Pacific combat zones, the Purple Heart for being wounded during the Battle of Okinawa and the Army Good Conduct Medal. For his Second War service, he was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Flauding died on February 5, 1982 in Elkhart, at the age of 67. He is buried in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, St. Joseph County, Indiana.
