A Elderslie Medal, in 10K Gold, shield-shaped, obverse illustrating a standing soldier bearing a rifle, with a flag exhibiting multiple folds behind him, the soldier placed above an open-ended wreath composed of branches of laurel leaves and maple leaves, the shield surmounted by a right-facing beaver, reverse inscribed PRESENTED TO PTE. JOHN WOODS BY THE CITIZENS OF ELDERSLIE FOR GALLANT SERVICES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918 with “PTE. JOHN WOODS” and “ELDERSLIE” hand engraved, reverse marked 10K and maker marked R denoting the Roden Brothers of Toronto, measures 32.1 mm (w) x 39.7 mm (h), weighs 13.6 grams, worn on a thick cotton red white and blue ribbon, light wear around edges, in very fine condition.
A Collingwood Township Decoration, in sterling silver, a round medal engraved GREAT WAR DUTY NOBLY DONE 1914-1918 on the obverse and PRESENTED TO Egbert May, marked STERLING, measures 42.3 mm (w) x 64.5 mm (h - inclusive of suspension bar), suspended from a bar engraved COLLINGWOOD TOWNSHIP MOUNTAIN DIVISION, horizontal pin on reverse, light wear, in very fine condition.
An Incomplete First War Service Decoration, in sterling silver, a round medal engraved GREAT WAR DUTY NOBLY DONE 1914-1918 on the obverse and PRESENTED TO PTE. WALTER W MCALLISTER 147 BN., marked STERLING, measures 42.3 mm (w) x 42.7 mm (h - inclusive of integral ring), missing the suspension bar, marked 925 STERLING on the reverse, dark patina, in fine condition.
