United States. A Cased Bronze Star Medal to Robert P. McIver

(Instituted February 4th, 1944). Constructed of bronze in the shape of a five-pointed star, the obverse with a smaller central bronze five-pointed star, the reverse inscribed “Heroic or Meritorious Achievement” in capital lettering, named “Robert P. McIver, otherwise unmarked, measuring 36.0 mm (w) x 44.6 mm (l), weighing 15.33 grams including its ribbon, accompanied by its presentation case, constructed of a lightweight wooden frame with a textured black faux leather exterior, the exterior of the lid embossed with “Bronze Star Medal” in capital letters as well as dual borders of golden wavy “crinkle crankle” lines on the top of the lid. The sides of the case are adorned with golden embossed lines on the top and bottom of the lid, the interior of the lid is lined in cream-coloured off-white silk, with a functional hinge assembly but loose hinge cover, with a felted medal bed with the addition of a horizontal pinback medal bar and a multi-coloured enameled boutonniere, measuring 90 mm (w) x 168 mm (l), in near extremely fine condition.
