In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
Instituted July 16 1932 by the Secretary of War. A Silver Star of two piece construction, a silver star placed upon a bronze gilt star base, measures 36mm (w) x 45mm (h – inclusive of integral suspension squared ring), worn on original ribbon with a full wrap brooch and C clasp, very light contact, in extremely fine condition.
Accompanied by its ribbon bar, measuring 35mm (w) x 10mm (h), and its enamelled lapel pin measuring 17mm (w) x 3.5mm (h), with button reverse. Contained in its original hardshell case of issue marked SILVER STAR on exterior of lid, minimal wear, all in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The Silver Star was established by the Secretary of War on July 16, 1932, as a successor award to the Citation Star and as the third highest decoration for combat bravery. The Citation Star was instituted by President Woodrow Wilson on July 9, 1918. The Silver Star is awarded to members of the Armed Forces in recognition of gallantry performed with marked distinction, but which does not merit the award of a higher decoration. Acts of gallantry performed in action against an enemy of the state, in military operations involving conflict with a foreign force, or while serving with an allied force engaged in armed conflict against an opposing force in which the United States is not a hostile party, are eligible for the award.
