Description

Multi piece construction in plated bronze with red, white and blue enamels, affixed with an eagle and reverse bearing Latin “Pro Patria Et Jure Centium” (translation: for the country and the right of the centurion), and numbered “50” on the reverse at the 12 o’clock mark, measuring at 32.4mm (w) x 40.9mm (h) and weighing 18.6 grams; accompanied by a miniature 13.0mm (w) x 17.5mm (h) and weighing at 3.0 grams; and accompanied by a boutonniere. All pieces in extremely fine condition.

Footnote: The Military Society of the War of 1812 was formed in 1826, with membership restricted to veterans of the war. In 1894, membership was opened to hereditary descendants of veterans.
