Description

Two-piece construction, insignia in silver with bronze gilt and surmounted by the Kings crown, with eight faceted arms, measuring 57.1mm (w) x 77.1 mm (h), both posts with lugs intact, pleasing tone, extremely fine.

Footnote: The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada is a reserve infantry regiment in 34 Canadian Brigade Group, 2nd Canadian Division, of the Canadian Army. It originated in Montreal, Canada East, as the 5th Battalion Volunteer Militia Rifles, Canada on January 31, 1862. It was later re-designated as the 5th Regiment "Royal Scots of Canada" on May 8, 1900, then re-designated as the Royal Highlanders of Canada on March 29, 1920 and re-designated as the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada July 1, 1935.
