Germany, Heer. A German Cross in Gold, Cloth Version

(Deutsches Kreuz in Gold, Stoffausführung). A cloth version of the German Cross in Gold, consisting of a double-overlaid eight-pointed starburst executed in field-grey wool with grey threaded and silver aluminum wire details, bearing a central white rayon disc overlaid by a black machine-embroidered mobile swastika trimmed with silver aluminum wire piping, situated within a circular gilt laurel leaf wreath, wrapped in ribbon and joined together at the bottom by a plaque bearing an institution date of “1941”, trimmed along both the interior and exterior edges with red threaded piping and with and culminating in an additional silver aluminum wire border at the outer edge, the reverse retaining an intact paper liner, unmarked, measuring 74 mm (w) x 74 mm (h), weighing 6.6 grams, in extremely fine condition.
