In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Wehrmacht Schiffchen für Offiziere der Panzertruppe). An extremely well-preserved Heer Panzer Officer’s M38 overseas cap, constructed of black wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold-down side walls which are scalloped toward the front. A length of silver aluminum wire piping trims the outer edge of the crown, while an additional length of identical piping extends across the peak. The crown is flanked by ventilation holes reinforced with black-painted non-magnetic metal grommets. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a black wool backer bearing a hand-embroidered silver aluminum wire Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 72 mm (w) x 36 mm (h) overall. Directly below the eagle, the cap also retains a tri-colour cockade constructed of multi-coloured wire with a red wool centrepiece, measuring 24 mm in diameter. The cockade is surrounded by a classic rose-pink soutache. The interior is fully encompassed by a multi-piece black cotton liner, while a brown leather sweatband extends across the forehead. Stamped onto the right side is a maker’s mark of “G.A. HOFFMANN, BERLIN S.W. 29”, for the firm more widely noted for its Berolina trade name, above a manufacture date of “1940” and a size mark of “56”. The cap measures approximately 28 cm (l) x 13 cm (h) when folded on a flat surface. Demonstrating only minor soiling and fatigue, this high-quality example remains in an extremely fine condition.
