Germany, Third Reich. A 1934 Champion Marksman Award

(Schützenkönig Auszeichnung). Constructed of frosted silver, consisting of a Maltese Cross, the obverse with green enameled arms joined through the quadrants by a circular oak leaf wreath, overlaid bearing a central white enameled bullseye target situated within a green enameled oak leaf wreath and topped by a hat, in turn bearing a mobile swastika and pierced by crossed rifles, the reverse bearing an engraved dedication of “SCHÜTZENKÖNIG 1934” (“CHAMPION MARKSMAN 1934”), stamped with a silver content number of “800”, topped by an integral loop retaining a period original full length neck ribbon, measuring 49.08 mm (w) x 53.70 mm (h), weighing 32.7 grams (inclusive of ribbon), demonstrating minor loss of frosting to the silver base, in near extremely fine condition.
