(926 LABR. SINGTHUAMA, 27 LAB CPS.). to Labourer Singthuama, 27th Lushai Labour Corps. Naming is officially impressed. In bronze, engraver marked "B.M" (Bernard Mackennal) on the obverse, measuring 36.5 mm in diameter, edge nicks, contact marks and surface wear overall, original ribbon with tape and glue residue evident on the reverse from precious board mounting, very fine.
Footnote: The British War Medal is a campaign medal which was awarded to officers and men of British and Imperial forces for service in the First World War. Two versions of the medal were produced: about 6.5 million were struck in silver and 110,000 in bronze, the latter awarded to, among others, the Chinese, Maltese and Indian Labour Corps.
