Instituted in 1921. The Grand Commander Badge in bronze gilt consists of a white-enameled Maltese cross, each arm finished with two ball finials; the obverse centerpiece bears a white-enameled eagle on a red field, surrounded by a blue enameled ring with the Latin words POLONIA RESTITUTA, the reverse centerpiece bears the date 1918 on an orange-enameled field; evidence of gilt wear on the cross, enamels intact, 58.8 mm, worn on red neck ribbon, very fine condition. Accompanied by the Grand Commander Star, an eight-pointed star with emanating rays of various lengths; the obverse centerpiece bears the monogram RP surrounded by a blue-enameled ring bearing the Latin words POLONIA RESTITUTA, the reverse presents a pin assembly, unmarked, 77.5 mm, enamels intact, hinge and catch functional, extremely fine condition. In its hard-shelled case of issue, white satin lined on the inside lid marked with SPINK & SON LTD, white velvet medal bed, insignia of the order on the exterior lid, extremely fine condition.
