Footnote: The President Dwight D. Eisenhower Appreciation Medal was struck in .900 silver by the United States Mint in Philadelphia, in honor of President Eisenhower's visit to South America in 1960. His visit took him to Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, the President presenting the medal to various individuals during this four country tour. A total of 1,750 medals were struck (1,200 on the original order, with 550 on a second order).
