Description

1. British War Medal 1914-1918, (9718 PTE. D. SHANKS. 3-CAN. INF.), obverse shows King George V facing left, reverse shows Saint George naked on horseback and armed with a short sword, inclusive of bar suspension 50.5 mm (h) x 36.3 mm (w), very fine condition.

Footnote: This campaign medal was instituted by the United Kingdom on 26 July 1919, awarded to those who had rendered service between 5 August 1914, the day following the British declaration of war against the German Empire, and the armistice of 11 November 1918.

2. National Rifle Association Medallion, in silver, obverse shows medieval archer with the dates ‘1300-1500’ and a civil war period uniformed soldier with the date '1860', reverse inscription reads “The National Rifle Association 1860” with engraving “Vizianagram 1998”, 82.1 grams, 57.8 mm, near mint condition. Housed in a leather pouch, very fine condition.

3. Dominion of Canada Rifle Association Silver Medal, obverse shows two soldiers shaking hands with inscription ‘Vis Unita Fortior’, reverse inscription reads ‘Presented by the Dominion of Canada Rifle Association 1868’, 45.1 mm, very fine condition.
