A Canadian medal bar grouping with five awards, consisting of:
1. A 1939-1945 Star. Constructed of a copper-zinc alloy, consisting of a six-pointed star, the obverse depicting the Royal Cypher “GRI VI” centrally surmounted by a crown and inscribed “The 1939-1945 Star” in capitalized lettering, the reverse is plain, on a fixed loop and swivel ring for suspension from its period original ribbon from the medal bar, unmarked, measuring 38.1 mm (w) x 50.9 mm (l).
2. A Italy Star. Constructed of a copper-zinc alloy, consisting of a six-pointed star, the obverse depicting the Royal Cypher “GRI VI” centrally surmounted by a crown and inscribed “The Italy Star” in capitalized lettering, the reverse is plain, on a fixed loop and swivel ring for suspension from its period original ribbon from the medal bar, unmarked, measuring 38.2 mm (w) x 51.1 mm (l).
3. A Defence Medal. A circular silver medal, the obverse with the bareheaded effigy of King George VI facing left, circumscribed by his name and title in latin, the reverse depicting the Royal Crown resting on an oak sapling, flanked by a lion and a lioness above stylised waves, inscribed “1939” and “1945” at the top and “The Defence Medal” in capitalized lettering along the bottom, suspended from a non-swivelling straight bar suspender attached to the medal via a single-toe claw mount and pin through the upper edge of the medal, unmarked, measuring 36.0 mm in diameter.
4. A Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. A circular silver medal, the obverse depicts seven marching figures and circumscribed “1939 Canada 1945 Voluntary Service Volontaire” in capitalized lettering, the reverse depicting the Coat of Arms of Canada, suspended from a straight suspender suspended from a small ring, featuring a medal bar with a maple leaf denoting overseas service, unmarked, measuring 36.1 mm in diameter.
5. A War Medal 1939-1945. A circular silver medal, the obverse depicts the crowned effigy of King George VI facing left and circumscribed by his name and title in Latin, the reverse depicts a lion standing on the body of a double-headed dragon and inscribed “1939” and “1945” near the top, suspended from a non-swivelling straight bar suspender attached to the medal via a single-toe claw mount and pin through the upper edge of the medal, unmarked, measuring 36.0 mm in diameter.
