A lot of three badges and insignia, Post May 1945 manufacture - c. 1970 issue, consisting of:
1. A Bronze Grade Infantry Assault Badge (Infanteriesturmabzeichen in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed white metal, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k rifle with the bayonet attached and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle, the reverse with a vertical pinback, unmarked, measuring 46.9 mm (w) x 61.4 mm (l), weighing 34.15 grams, in near mint condition.
2. A Luftwaffe Sea Battle Concept Badge (Seekampfabzeichen). Constructed of gilded and silvered white metal, the obverse consisting of an oval oak wreath with a central steam boat with a tall mast, missing its Luftwaffe eagle at the top of the badge, the reverse with a vertical pinback, unmarked, measuring 43.7 mm (w) x 55.0 mm (l), weighing 25.08 grams, in fine condition.
3. A Narvik Shield. (Narvikschild). Constructed of silvered white metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised propeller, anchor, and edelweiss, symbolizing the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and Gebirgsjäger (Heer) respectively, topped by a date of “1940”, an inscription of “NARVIK”, and a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed swastika, the reverse with all four pins, unmarked, measuring 39.5 mm (w) x 92.4 mm (l), in very fine condition.
Footnote: Rudolf Souval was a predominant manufacturer of medals, awards, and badges during the Second World War. Following the end of the war in Europe in May 1945, Rudolf Souval continued manufacturing certain awards using wartime parts and dies for American G.I’s stationed in Europe.
