In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Wehrmacht Schneewindbluse für Gebirgstruppe). A well-preserved Wehrmacht (Heer) Gebirgsjäger’s winter camouflage anorak, constructed of a weatherproof linen-blended cloth. One side is finished in an unblemished white for wear in snowy conditions, while the opposite side presents in a slate-grey for wear in rocky mountainous terrain. It features a hood and V-neck collar closing with compressed card stock buttons and a drawstring fitted through reinforced eyelets. Three pleated pockets are distributed across the chest, all closing with scalloped flaps perforated with reinforced buttonholes, in turn meeting compressed card stock buttons. Additional pockets are set into the lower sides with identical button enclosures. Each cuff features an integral strap for flush closure to mitigate inclement weather conditions, while an additional belt set into the reverse allows for an adjustable fit. Stamped onto the reverse of the V-neck opening is a maker’s mark of “KLEPPER-WERKE” for the Rosenheim-based garment manufacturer, with a date of “1942”, and size mark of “GRÖßE 1”. It measures approximately 57 cm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 57 cm, and an overall body length of 78 cm when folded on a flat surface. Demonstrating moderate soiling and material fatigue through the base material consistent with wartime use, this battlefield-worn anorak remains in a better than very fine condition.
