(Heer Insignien für Offiziere und Unteroffiziere). A mixed lot of Heer uniform insignia, including:
1. A matching set of Infantry Feldwebel shoulder straps, each constructed of dark green wool with field-grey wool underlays, trimmed with white piping, bordered by silver aluminum tresses, and pinned with silvered pips, the reverse of each featuring an integral strap perforated with a reinforced buttonhole, both unmarked and measuring 42 mm (w) x 110 mm (l), demonstrating minor soiling and fatigue, a field-worn and uniform-removed set in near extremely fine condition.
2. An Armoured Officer’s collar tab, constructed of rose-pink wool with a buckram core, topped by dual silver aluminum wire insignia, unmarked, measuring 35 mm (w) x 75 mm (l), demonstrating minor soiling and fatigue, a field-worn and uniform-removed example in near extremely fine condition.
3. An Officer’s breast eagle, constructed of dark green rayon, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 115 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), a field-worn and uniform-removed flat wire example in extremely fine condition.
4. An early-issue Officer’s breast eagle, constructed of field-grey wool, topped by a layer of grey rayon, in turn bearing a machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 115 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), a field-worn and uniform-removed flat wire example in near extremely fine condition.
5. A second early-issue Officer’s breast eagle, constructed of field-grey wool, topped by a layer of grey rayon, in turn bearing a machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 110 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), a field-worn and uniform-removed flat wire example in near extremely fine condition.
6. A Wehrmacht-issue rank pip, constructed of silvered zink, unmarked, measuring 14 mm (w) x 14 mm (l), missing its attachment prongs, in very fine condition.
Footnote: These examples were retrieved by a United States serviceman in the field during the Second World War, and hail directly from his estate without previously being available on the collector market.
