Description
Description
(Wehrmacht Heer Tropenhose). An example of tropical Wehrmacht (Heer) service trousers as worn by enlisted personnel in the entire Mediterranean theater of war, including Africa and Southern Italy. These trousers are constructed of light olive-drab cotton twill with a corduroy pattern, and feature one diagonal-slit pocket per side in the front. There is an additional small horizontal-slit watch fob pocket on the right side immediately to the left of the diagonal slit pocket. The front of these trousers feature a 26 cm long vertical slit that is secure shut via a series of 6 matching vertically mounted zink buttons, that are met by hidden reinforced buttonholes on the opposing side. Immediately to the left and right of the frontal opening is a vertical slit to allow for the threading-through of an integral belt, with a magnetic metal buckle featuring three intact prongs for gripping the belt. Along the right rear of these trousers is an additional horizontal-slit pocket that is secured shut via a single button (missing). These trousers are unlined, for the exception of the waistband and pockets, which are lined with off-white cotton. On each pant leg cuff is a 15 cm long slit, without buttons or a string to secure them shut. These trousers measure approximately 43 cm across the waist (seam to seam), with an inseam of 59.5 cm, and an overall pant length of 89 cm. This is an example of worn tropical Wehrmacht Heer field service trousers, with moderate material fatigue, some soiling, and exhibiting field repair throughout, in better than fine condition.
