Germany, HJ. An Enlisted Personnel Belt and Buckle

(HJ Gürtel und Schnalle für Mannschaften). An HJ Enlisted personnel belt and buckle, the former constructed of blackened leather, one end riveted with a magnetic metal clip, the opposite end retaining a hidden reverse tongue, with both the belt and tongue perforated with an array of eyelets for an adjustable fit, stamped with a “RÜSTHAUS” maker’s mark for a noted manufacturer of German Scouts and other youth accessories, measuring 4 cm (w) x 84 cm (l), demonstrating age-appropriate material fatigue throughout, in very fine condition; the latter constructed of nickel-plated magnetic steel, the obverse bearing a central raised German national eagle clutching an HJ insignia, situated within a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “BLUT UND EHRE” (“BLOOD AND HONOR”), the reverse with a loop and attachment claws emanating from a functional roller, unmarked, measuring 62 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), demonstrating minor scratching throughout the nickel plating, in extremely fine condition.
