Description
An Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918, with Award Document to Alexander von Cancrin c. 1934, (Ehrenkreuz des Weltkriegs 1914/1918). An iron cross paty constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse centre bears the dates “1914 1918” encompassed by a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon at the bottom, two upwards facing crossed swords lay in the quadrants between the arms, the reverse is plain and marked “R.S.L.”, with loop for suspension on a red, black and white striped ribbon, measuring 37.14 mm (w) x 40.91 mm (h), very fine.
An Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 Award Document, on cream-coloured paper, awarded to the Captain Alexander von Cancrin in Landsberg on 15 December 1934. The document is not numbered, but stamped and signed. Presenting two folding creases, with slight creasing and scuffing. Measuring 211 mm (w) x 149 mm (h), in overall extremely fine condition.
Germany, Imperial. A Wound Badge, Black Grade, (Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz). Constructed of blackened bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel wreath, with a central Stahlhelm on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 37.35 mm (w) x 42.81 mm (h), weighing 7.6 grams, in very fine condition.
An Army Wound Badge in Black Document, on cream coloured paper, to Alexander von Cancrin. The document is dated 9 August 1918 and stamped and signed. The top bears an image of a wound badge with a laurel wreath and sword. Presenting multiple creases, slight creasing and scuffing. The reverse is taped in three places. Measuring 193 mm (w) x 250 mm (h), very fine.
