In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
(Militär-Ehrenzeichen II. Klasse in Zink). Instituted 27 February 1864 by Wilhelm I of Prussia. (1916-1918 issue). Constructed of zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised monogram of Wilhelm I of Prussia, the reverse with an inscription of “KRIEGS VERDIENST” (“WAR MERIT”), inside of a laurel wreath joined together at the bottom by a ribbon, measuring 40.54 mm in diameter, weighing 28.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Although originally a Prussian decoration, the Military Honour Medal continued to be awarded by the German Empire, which introduced a new zink version of the award between 1916 and 1918 as alternative metals became scarce during the war years.
