(Auszeichnungen). A mixed lot of awards for First World War service, including:
1. A Lübeck Hanseatic Cross, constructed of silvered copper with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with red enameled arms, bearing a central Lübeck coat of arms, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “FÜR VERDIENST IM KRIEGE 1914” (“FOR MERIT IN WAR 1914”), unmarked, measuring 39.94 mm (w) x 43.87 mm (h), weighing 17.9 grams (inclusive of ribbon), demonstrating some cracking and chipping to the enamel to the six o’clock arm, in very fine condition.
2. A Black Grade Wound Badge, constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 37.95 mm (w) x 42.64 mm (h), weighing 6.2 grams, in extremely fine condition.
3. A Silver Grade Wound Badge, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 37.80 mm (w) x 42.89 mm (h), weighing 7.3 grams, demonstrating near-total loss of finish to the base metal, in very fine condition.
4. An Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 for Combatants, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse bearing central wreathed dates “1914-1918”, the reverse maker marked with the logo of an unidentified manufacturer, measuring 38.29 mm (w) x 43.11 mm (h), weighing 15.1 grams, in extremely fine condition.
