Germany, Imperial. A Mixed Lot of Fire Brigade Items

(Feuerwehr Gegenstände). A mixed lot of three fire brigade items, including:

1. A Württemberg Fire Brigade Honour Decoration, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon affixed to a parade mount with a horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing a central raised fireman’s helmet overlaying a ladder and pair of crossed axes, circumscribed by an inscription of “FÜR 25 JÄHRIGE DIENSTZEIT” (“FOR 25 YEARS’ SERVICE TIME”), topped by a monogram of King Wilhelm II and a royal crown, the reverse maker marked “W. MAYER & FR. WILHELM” for the eponymous Stuttgart-based firms, measuring 37.00 mm in diameter, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a central gilded Württemberg coat of arms, circumscribed by an inscription of “EHRENZEICHEN FÜR 25 JÄHR. DIENSTZEIT IN DER FEUERWEHR”, the interior with a white satin lid liner and partially-intact hinge cover, with a maroon velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 55 mm (w) x 90 mm (l) x 25 mm (h), demonstrating moderate material fatigue to the case, in near extremely fine condition.

2. A matching set of Fire Brigade NCO/Officer Candidate shoulder boards, each constructed of carmine wool with dark blue wool underlays, the obverse of both trimmed with silver aluminum wire tresses and pinned with gilded cyphers, each retaining silvered bronze buttons, both unmarked and measuring 40 mm (w) x 115 mm (l), one board demonstrating some mothing to the edge and reverse, in better than very fine condition.
