(Abzeichen und Insignien). A mixed lot of items, including:
1. A Silver Grade Wound Badge, constructed of silvered brass, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, surrounding a central raised Stahlhelm, overlaying a pair of crossed swords over a hollow void, the reverse 39.56 mm (w) x 45.06 mm (h), weighing 7.4 grams, in extremely fine condition.
2. A German Equestrian Badge, Bronze Grade, constructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a belt surrounding a raised letter “R”, surrounding a mounted horse, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire pinback, maker marked “L. CHR. LAUER, NÜRNBERG-BERLIN”, measuring 42.22 mm (w) x 52.33 mm (h), weighing 15.7 grams, in extremely fine condition.
3. A 1936 Berlin Olympics Commemorative Medallion in Bronze, constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing a raised female figure clutching an olive branch and laurel crown, circumscribed by an inscription of “ZUR EHRE DES VATERLANDES ZUM RUHME DES SPORTS” (“TO THE HONOUR OF THE FATHERLAND, TO THE GLORY OF SPORTS”), the reverse bearing a central raised bell overlaid by a German national eagle clutching Olympic rings, the rim of the bell bearing an inscription of “ICH RUFE DIE JUGEND DER WELT” (“I CALL THE YOUTH OF THE WORLD”), circumscribed by an inscription of “OLYMPISCHE SPIELE BERLIN MCMXXXVI” (“OLYMPIC GAMES BERLIN 1936”), unmarked, measuring 36 mm in diameter, demonstrating minor tarnishing and loss of finish, in better than very fine condition.
4. A Reichsarbeitsdienst (Reich Labour Service/RAD) cap badge, constructed of magnetic metal, the reverse retaining both attachment prongs, marked with a Reichsletiung des Reichsarbeitsdienstes logo and a maker’s mark obscured by the prongs, measuring 45 mm (w) x 40 mm (h), demonstrating minor surface oxidation throughout, in very fine condition.
