The collection consists of: a promotion document to Feldwebel (210x296mm, very fine); a German-Italian Africa Campaign Medal award document (155x218mm, near extremely fine); a War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords award document (148x210mm, better than very fine); a Sudetenland Medal award document (209x148mm, extremely fine).
The promotion document is named to Unteroffizier (NCO) Hartmann of the 9th (Funkhorch = signals intelligence) Company of Air Signals Regiment Afrika. It is stated that he has been promoted to Feldwebel (Sergeant), effective February 1, 1943. The document is dated to January 30, 1943 and carries the facsimile of the deputy Battalion Commander of the 2nd Battalion, a Hauptmann (Captain), the name is illegible.
The German-Italian Africa Campaign Medal award document is named to Unteroffizier Hartmann. It is dated to Afrika on June 1, 1942 and signed in black ink by the same Hauptmann whose facsimile is on the above document.
The War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords award document is named to Unteroffizier Hartmann of H.-Zug 2nd Company of Air Signals Battalion Afrika. It is dated to January 16, 1942 and signed in blue ink by the Commander-in-Chief South, Generalfeldmarschall Albert Kesselring (1885–1960), a recipient of the Knight’s Cross with Diamonds.
The Sudetenland Medal award document is named to Unteroffizier Hartmann. It is dated to Munich on October 28, 1939 and signed by proxy for General der Flieger Sperrle by a Lieutenant Colonel and Regiment Commander, the name is illegible.
