Germany, Ordnungspolizei. A Long Service Award, I Class for 25 Years, with Case

(Dienstauszeichnung der Polizei I. Stufe für 25 Jahre mit Etui). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1944 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central raised Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of a raised German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika and overlaying an oval oak leaf wreath, the reverse bearing a central oval medallion overlaid by a raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLIZEI” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE POLICE”), unmarked, measuring 43.00 mm (w) x 47.68 mm (h), weighing 23.1 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux dark green leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilded and embossed number “25” situated within a semi-circular oak leaf wreath, the interior with a padded white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted field-grey felt medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 60 mm (w) x 105 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), a scarce example of a matching set in near mint condition.
