(Ordensschnalle). A medal bar for a First and Second World War medical (non-combatant) volunteer featuring three awards, including:
1. An Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 for Non-Combatants, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse bearing central wreathed dates “1914-1918”, unmarked, measuring 36.94 mm (w) x 41.83 mm (h), in better than very fine condition.
2. A War Merit Cross II Class, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central wreathed date of “1939”, without visible marks, measuring 48.91 mm (w) x 49.00 mm (h), weighing in extremely fine condition.
3. A Medal of the German Red Cross, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Geneva Cross, the obverse with red enameled arms joined together through the outer quadrants by a white enameled ring, overlaid by a central gilded and black enameled German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse pebbled and bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE UMD DAS DEUTSCHE ROTE KREUZ” (“FOR SERVICE TO THE GERMAN RED CROSS”), unmarked, measuring 39.04 mm in diameter, demonstrating minor flecking and scratching to the enamels, in extremely fine condition.
All suspended from an 80 mm-long bar with a magnetic metal core, horizontal pinback, and field-grey wool reverse liner, unmarked, demonstrating soiling to the ribbons, in near extremely fine condition.
