(Ordensschnalle). A medal bar for military and civil service featuring five decorations, including:
1. A War Merit Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Maltese Cross with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR KRIEGSVERDIENST 1939” (“FOR WAR MERIT 1939”), unmarked, measuring 32.11 mm in diameter, weighing 14.0 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
2. An Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 for Combatants, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, consisting of a Cross Pattée with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse bearing central wreathed dates “1914-1918”, unmarked, measuring 38.11 mm (w) x 42.87 mm (h), weighing 15.4 grams, in very fine condition.
3. A Civil Service 25-Year Faithful Service Award, constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms joined through the quadrants by a circular oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a central black enameled swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 42.23 mm (w) x 46.77 mm (h), weighing 21.2 grams, demonstrating moderate loss of finish, in very fine condition.
4. An Olympic Games Commemorative Medal, constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse bearing a central raised column, topped by Olympic rings, and overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika flanked by a date of “1937”, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTVOLLE MITARBEIT BEI DEN OLYMPISCHEN SPIELEN 1936” (“FOR MERITORIOUS ASSISTANCE TO THE OLYMPIC GAMES OF 1936”), above a cluster of oak leaves, unmarked, measuring 37.62 mm in diameter, weighing 21.5 grams, demonstrating minor tarnishing and loss of finish throughout, in better than very fine condition.
5. A Sudetenland Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised date of “1. OKTOBER 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, measuring 32.02 mm in diameter, weighing 12.4 grams, demonstrating an edge nick, in near extremely fine condition.
All suspended from a non-magnetic metal bar with a horizontal pinback and field-grey wool reverse liner, unmarked, measuring 125 mm in length, in near extremely fine condition.
