(Deutsche Familienbuch, mit Programm). A pair of rare period publications, including:
1. An unused Deutsche Familienbuch (Germany Family Book), constructed of a card stock binding with paginated interior pages, opening with a 36 page exposition of German cultural and racial history presented in Fraktur script, followed by 74 pages featuring black-and-white images of Germans with an emphasis on cultural facets, rural living, Germanic folk art and dress, child rearing, and the place of NSDAP ideological indoctrination in the new Germany, concluding with 94 unused pages awaiting the addition of handwritten genealogical information pertaining to the owner’s family, with space for a lengthy family tree and wider particulars of more recent relatives, published by Karl M. Weber of Essen, with the cover page featuring a handwritten dedication and date of “12. 7. 1944”, measuring 22 cm (w) x 30 cm (h), demonstrating minor discolouration and fatigue to the interior binding but with no compromise of structural integrity, a rare example in near extremely fine condition.
2. An English-language program issued to visitors to the 1936 Berlin Olympics, constructed of glossed paperstock with full-colour imagery, folding out to reveal 19 paginated pages featuring event schedules, maps, and information on accommodations and entertainment for visitors, measuring 10.5 cm (w) x 22.5 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
