1. A post-war signed photo of Generalleutnant Curt Badinski (Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, 11 October 1941), depicted in an unusual shirt with shoulder boards and Knight’s Cross visible (possibly edited into the image), with the lower half overlaid by Badinski’s handwritten signature in blue ink, the reverse stamped “POST CARD” and “MADE IN USA”, measuring 7.5 cm (w) x 9.5 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
2. A postwar signed photo of Generalleutnant Gerhard Engel, depicted in uniform and with decorations including the Knight Cross of the Iron Cross (4 July 1944) with Oak Leaves (11 December 1944) clearly visible, the lower border overlaid by Engel’s handwritten signature in blue ink, the reverse stamped with a Straubing studio mark and bearing handwritten captions, measuring 9 cm (w) x 14 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
3. A wartime signed postcard of Generalfeldmarschall Maximilian von Weichs (Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, 29 June 1940; with Oak Leaves, 5 February 1945), the image consistent of a detailed etching of von Weichs, with the lower half overlaid by von Weichs’ handwritten signature in black ink, the reverse unused and bearing a Berlin printer’s mark, measuring 10.5 cm (w) x 15 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
4. Also including a pair of signed documents from the estate of Hans Schwieger, a noted conductor who was the Generalmusikdirektor (General Music Director) at the Danzig State Theatre (Staatstheater Danzig) from 1936 until 1937, before emigrating to the United States as a refugee owing to his wife’s Jewish heritage, and who later was director of the Kansas City Philharmonic Orchestra, consisting of signed postcard, the obverse featuring a close-up headshot of Schwieger in profile, with the lower half overlaid by his handwritten signature in black ink, dedicated from Danzig and dated 27 May 1942, the reverse unused, measuring 10 cm (w) x 14.5 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
5. A short typewritten letter from Schwieger to “ERNST FRITZ KATZ” of Frankfurt-am-Main, dated 29 May 1937 and submitted in Schwieger’s capacity of Generalmusikdirektor of Staatstheater Danzig with the appropriate letterhead, closing with a handwritten signature, measuring 21 cm (w) x 26 cm (h) when unfolded, demonstrating creases consistent with being folded into quadrants, accompanied by tis original envelope, posted on 29 May 1937 from Danzig, in overall extremely fine condition.
