Description
Description
This is an extremely well-preserved edition of the “Handbook on German Military Forces”, a United States War Department technical manual issued on 15 March 1945. It is constructed of a light card stock binding, with the exterior of the cover bearing a sketch of a Gebirgsjäger, circumscribed by the title. The interior contents consists of ten segmented chapters dispersed through white paper stock pages. It contains extensive and detailed information on all branches of the German armed forces, including expositions on training, equipment, uniforms, and tactical doctrines, as well as on the perceived psyche of German personnel. The book theorizes that German military doctrine of the Second World War emphasizes unity and centralized command, and that unlocking these principles for US forces is key to countering the former on the battlefield. The book was published in March 1945 by the United States War Department, printed by the United States Printing Office in Washington D.C., and contains information stated to be regarded as accurate as of 15 February 1945. It measures 215 mm (w) x 280 mm (h). With only minor material fatigue evident to the cover, the book is in an extremely fine condition.
Reference Guide Shipping Policy: An additional shipping charge may be applicable following the time of purchase due to size, weight, and quantity. Please note that books cannot be shipped via Canada Post Flat Tracked method.
